The Work

Recognizing that these challenges needed to be addressed before the clinical trial could be successful, IBCRF asked BFES/Amader Gram to help develop a unique solution. Amader Gram wanted an online EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system for their Patients to maintain a Database in the Multidisciplinary Breast Specialty Centers. The whole system was designed and developed by OPEN SOLUTIONS. The basic idea was to keep a record for future so that researches can use these data.

The Solution

OPEN SOLUTION team did some research to find the basic information which needed for a EMR. The OS team visited Khulna and Bagethat several time to see the current system of taking records. The team had to find a very easy solution that will fit the organizations need and also easily manageable.

The Challenge

It was a huge system to build. It has different tabs for different patient’s different information. This includes the basic information tab, history tab, exam tab, vital sign tab diagnosis tab, medication tab and previous test results upload system tab. User can upload jpg image to pdf, and word doc etc in test results upload tab. User can print anything from the system and print an ID card for each patient.

The Tools

For making the system we used totally open source tools like for scripting we used PHP and for database management we used Mysql. We also use jquery in some pages.

The Time

The whole project from idea to launch was done within a span of 6 months. We did some successful trial on khulna center. now the whole system is stored in a secure server on the internet.

The Rest

For last 6 months OPEN SOLUTION has been providing monthly support for updating and maintaining the system.
